Steps & Stairs: Adding Functional Beauty to Your Landscape
Landscape steps and rockface step treads have become a trend amongst our customers.
[metaslider id=3515]
One of the most functional ways to work with levels of a landscape or hardscape is through the use of steps. Simply put, steps allow for ease of access in settings that contain a slope or hilly conditions.
Besides their functional purpose, steps also help to provide definition of space and also help enhance the aesthetic quality of an outdoor environment. Any of our steps and stair systems can be built with natural stone, retaining wall block, rockface treads, or slabs as you can see below.

We hired Ryan’s landscaping for our new home, and were very happy with the job Ryan and his crew did. We had landscaping done on all four sides of our home, and elected to have stone put down instead of mulch. It looks great and we don’t have to re-mulch every year!
We also opted for a stone border along our beds versus the plastic tubing, per Ryan’s recommendation, and we are glad we did! We now have beautiful landscaping, with very little maintenance!
I would certainly recommend Ryan’s Landscaping to anyone!

We’ve used Ryan for a variety of services over the past 4 years, including landscaping several mulch beds and around our pool, planting trees, and paver work on our front porch and walkway, patio, curved knee wall, and pool area. Plus he has provided lawn care for us such as aerating, over seeding and fertilizing. I can always depend on him and his employees to give me a quality job with a smile. He is meticulous, hard-working, and fair. Whenever we have an outdoor project, he’s the first guy we think of. I’ll keep using Ryan’s Landscaping until I run out of landscape projects!

My wife and I moved into a newly build home in November of 2011. Lawn was seeded, but needed additional landscaping. We were able to locate Ryan and have him provide us with outstanding service then, and now when we need additional work done on the property. Ryan put steps into the back yard so that my wife was able to walk up a hill to her garden. He has maintained our plant and flower beds since 2011 and we are looking forward to his continued present here around our home.

Choosing the right landscape contractor
Choosing the right landscape contractor will help you get the best value for your investment. Not all contractors are the same. The contractor that you use can greatly impact how your money is spent on these projects. Just because you choose the lowest-cost option in the beginning, doesn’t mean you will be better off.
Choosing incorrectly initially can mean even more future costs and aggravation. Here is a list of suggestions to consider when choosing a landscape service for a landscaping or hardscaping project:
Available references
Reliable and capable of handling your project
Qualified and sufficiently trained staff
Licensed and carries workers’ compensation and general liability insurance
Professional staff
A company that returns your calls in a timely manner
Here is one landscape project that we installed last year that really sticks out to us. The customer was considering options for their landscape, walk, & yard. We educated them on the process and the benefits of the outcome. On the proposal they made their decision to go with our company. We installed the new landscape design, paver walkway, edgers, & renovated there entire front lawn! After installation the customer was so grateful. They greeted me with a smile and said “Thank you, Thank you, I can’t thank you enough.” They mentioned that other neighbors in their neighborhood were giving them great compliments on it as well. They then told us that another neighbor in the neighborhood had work done by a different landscape company and spent nearly double what they paid just to have a small front lawn reinstalled. Unfortunately we hear this more times than not. So remember make sure you do a screening before hiring the right contractor.

“Ryan and crew have been working off and on for me the last two or three years. He has done landscaping and also done block wall construction. He is always there when he tells you and he cleans up the area that he is working on when finished. There is never any extras for me to do when he is finished. He lets you know what to do with your plants and shrubs, like if there is any trimming or when they need to be cut down for the season. We have had a new plant or two not make it and Ryan has always supplied us with a new one at no cost to me. He guarantees his plants and shrubs for one year and no cost for the labor. His crew is always looking out for the customer also. Great group of guys and I would and have recommended him over the years and have never had a complaint from people that have used him. What he charges for his work has always been better than others that I have gotten estimates from. Keep up the great work Ryan and company!”
