RYAN’S LANDSCAPING

Monthly Archives: December 2013

Harold & Leslie from Hanover say…

We’ve used Ryan for a variety of services over the past 4 years, including landscaping several mulch beds and around our pool, planting trees, and paver work on our front porch and walkway, patio, curved knee wall, and pool area. Plus he has provided lawn care for us such as aerating, over seeding and fertilizing. I can always depend on him and his employees to give me a quality job with a smile. He is meticulous, hard-working, and fair. Whenever we have an outdoor project, he’s the first guy we think of. I’ll keep using Ryan’s Landscaping until I run out of landscape projects!

Ed from Hanover says…

My wife and I moved into a newly build home in November of 2011. Lawn was seeded, but needed additional landscaping. We were able to locate Ryan and have him provide us with outstanding service then, and now when we need additional work done on the property. Ryan put steps into the back yard so that my wife was able to walk up a hill to her garden. He has maintained our plant and flower beds since 2011 and we are looking forward to his continued present here around our home.

What is an interlocking concrete paver?

What is an interlocking concrete paver?

An interlocking concrete paver is a special type of paver. This special type of paver, also known as a segmental paver, has emerged over the last couple of decades.

When one thinks of interlocking paving stones one often gets the idea of dog bone shape stones that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. That is not the case at all. The interlocking comes from the fact that each stone cannot move independently from its neighbor. In fact there are two important aspects of an interlocking paving stone job that keeps the pavers interlocked.

The purpose of a retaining wall

A segmental retaining wall (SRW) is constructed of strong designed block and built horizontally to alleviate the erosion of soil, due to hills or slopes. In addition it will create a flat area to poorly sloped piece of land, adding more useable space. Our retaining walls are built with function and beauty, and are constructed of the highest quality material, so they’re built to last.

Retaining walls are built using materials such as wood, stone, interlocking blocks, or poured into place concrete. Each comes with its own benefits and associated costs. One thing to keep in mind is drainage. A drainage system behind the retaining wall is crucial to the life of the wall system, no matter what material is used to construct the wall.

Any of our retaining walls can be built using KeystonePaveStoneAllan BlockVersa – LokTecho – BlocNicolockor any other system you may think of.
